HTP Control Panel
An HTP (High Tension Panel) Control Panel is a power distribution
panel used to control and protect high-voltage electrical systems
(typically above 11kV). It is widely used in industrial plants, power
stations, substations, and commercial buildings to ensure the safe
and efficient distribution of electrical power.
Types of HTP Control Panels
1.HT Panel (High Tension Panel)
- Controls and distributes power from high-voltage sources (11kV to
33kV).
- Used in substations and industrial power networks.
2.LT Panel (Low Tension Panel)
- Works alongside HT panels to distribute power at lower voltages
(415V/440V).
- Used in buildings and factories for operational power distribution.
3.VCB Panel (Vacuum Circuit Breaker Panel)
- Uses a vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) for switching and protection.
- Suitable for high-voltage applications (up to 33kV).
4.RMU (Ring Main Unit) Panel
- A compact high-voltage switchgear system for underground power
distribution.
- Provides uninterrupted power supply with multiple feeder options.
5.Power Control Center (PCC) Panel
- Controls and distributes high-power loads in industrial applications.
- Ensures safe operation with protection relays and automation.
Main Components of an ETP Control Panel
1. Protection & Switching Components
- Circuit Breakers (VCB/ACB/SF6 Breakers) – Protects against faults like
short circuits and overloads.
- Current Transformers (CTs) & Potential Transformers (PTs) – Measures high
voltage and current for metering and protection.
- Earth Leakage & Overcurrent Relays – Detects faults and isolates circuits
to prevent damage.
2. Monitoring & Control Devices
- Digital Multi-Function Meters – Displays voltage, current, power factor,
and frequency.
- SCADA & Remote Monitoring Systems – Enables real-time data analysis
and remote control.
- Alarms & Indicators – Alerts for abnormal conditions like overvoltage,
earth faults, and overcurrent.
3. Busbars & Wiring Components
- Copper/Aluminum Busbars – Efficiently distributes high-voltage power.
- Isolators & Load Break Switches (LBS) – Ensures safe disconnection during
maintenance.
Functions of an HTP Control Panel
- Distributes high-voltage power safely across multiple circuits.
- Protects electrical systems from overloads, short circuits, and faults.
- Controls power supply to various industrial machinery and equipment
